Who can apply

The requirements, in plain language

We keep the requirements straightforward and legal, every Fixer is verified before they take their first job, so both you and the customer can trust the process.

Age 18+

You're 18 years of age or older at the time you apply.

Legally able to work in Canada

You're a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or hold a valid work permit that authorizes you to work in Canada (for example, an open work permit).

Real, hands-on experience

You have genuine experience with at least one car service. A mechanic's certification is not required to apply, practical skill matters most.

Valid government ID

You have a valid government-issued photo ID we can verify during your application.

Your own basic tools

You own, or have reliable access to, the basic tools for the service(s) you plan to offer.

Able to travel locally

You're comfortable and able to travel to customers within your own city.

Important to know

Fixers work independently under CarFindr, not as employees, similar to how independent contractors operate in other service industries. This means you're responsible for reporting your own income for tax purposes. Every job you take always follows CarFindr's rules and standards, so customers know exactly what to expect from you.

Do I need to be a certified mechanic?
No. Real, hands-on experience matters more than paperwork. You choose exactly which services you're confident offering, and can add more over time.
How do I get paid?
Payment setup and payout timing are covered in full detail during the application process, before you take your first job.
Can I do this part-time?
Yes, most Fixers start part-time. You set your own hours and only take jobs that fit your schedule, with no minimum commitment.
What areas are open right now?
We're building our first wave of Fixers now. Apply and we'll reach out with next steps for your city.
Do I need my own vehicle?
Yes, since you're traveling to the customer, you'll need reliable transportation to get yourself and your tools to each job.
What if I only know one or two services well?
That's completely fine. You select exactly which services you offer during sign-up, and only receive jobs that match them.
